Power of Prayer!

As you know, I was just to Maui for my son's wedding and yes, it did happen and I have a new daughter! But it was only possible through the grace of our God Who calms the waters. You prayed and God answered. For those who don't know what I am talking about, here is the rest of the story.

For the last 18 months, my son and his fiancee have been planning a destination wedding at Maui, Hawaii. After all the work and expenses, the morning the wedding was to happen we went into a form of martial law being sequestered under Civil Defense to a designated area while a tsunami approached from the Chilean earth quake.
I saw one woman with her two little girls get threatened that if she didn't comply to the evacuation, she would be fined, so with great unhappiness she packed up her two girls who were bedraggledly struggling to reach the area designated to wait the waves out. I offered to help her if she would let anybody help but she was sure frustrated.
A group of us who were Christian clustered together automatically and seemingly supernaturally pulling together and sharing our faith and praying; and then we spread out and ministered to the 1,000 people with who we were sequestered. While gone, I led two people to salvation just shaking my head in awe at God's provision for this endeavor and planted and watered and ministered by dispelling fear and dread, elevating a swollen leg, explaining surrounding changes, answering godly questions, etc.
To watch the birds go from playing and flitting around to screeching and flying away to leave utter quiet once they were gone was eerie and the whales finally stopped playing and went north away from the area too...at least the most of them anyway. Regarding the water on the horizon, the meniscus, it swelled greatly. The water receded and then came in farther then usual but was not severe on the side of Maui that we were on. The roads were closed, the water shut off, [we ran our room's tub full of water after cleaning the tub special for precaution against the water not coming back on or from the main water maybe becoming contaminated] and the sewer lines were shut down.
Every thing said, "NO! There would be no wedding today!" The waves were taking 45 minutes to come in and 45 to go out and two of them were seen to be coming so it would be after 3 PM before we could even think of being free to come and go. No wedding under those conditions! I had called friends who called others, even Pastors in conference, for prayer against the Tsunami but when the 1 PM messages from the Civil Defense were saying we had hours yet of being confined, I called friends back to pray only for the wedding to be able to come together yet that day. “Forget about the Tsunami and pray for the wedding only,” I asked. One half hour later, after being fed Luau style food since the nearby Luau scheduled for 12 noon had been canceled, we were suddenly and unexpectedly given the all clear at 1:30 PM.
All of us with the wedding tore out of there and got ready and with a lagging by an hour my son had the wedding fully back on track even to the receiving of the flowers from the other side of the Island once the roads were reopened. What amazing grace of God Who answers prayer!

Do You Know Your Neighbors?

I do. I live in a neighborhood of 15 houses and we do all know one another but we don't all know what each other is doing all the time. Yet when I saw this article, “PleaseRobMe website reveals dangers of social networks,” the article being at this website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8521598.stm I thought it IS good to know your neighbors. It is good to let a couple three of them know when you are gone so they can keep a watch on your place for you. I usually leave giving permission to a couple of my neighbors that if they see someone back up to the house with a moving van, feel free to call 911 for I am only out of town; not moving!

We think we are really not sharing much on our Twitter, websites, face books or blogs; only that we are going to _____; and now fill in the blank where you are going to. Soon I can say I am going to Maui and how can anybody know details from that that I should worry? How am I basically advertising “PleaseRobMe” from that little information?

Well, our face book and blog and whatever we are social networking off of has profiles. Not only that, I could take my name and put it in goggle or some other search engine and find out my phone number, address and even 'location' on a map where I live right down to being able to put an X on my house. If I were a thief, it would take only a short stint of observation called “stalking the house” and I would have a good idea if somebody is coming and going into my house and what the times are that they are checking on my house for me. Then I could determine if I were a high risk to burglarize or if I was an 'open door' so to speak. Yes, it is good to know your neighbors and all the more so if you social network. Tell your neighbors when you go and alert them to 'watch' with permission to call 911 if they need to so you can go, and go with peace of mind. It's a good thing.

Some people have nobody living nearby that they want to have watching their place so they let the local police force know. An officer on duty will swing down your street at random times to be the one to keep the watch for you then.

Folks in the country are not without risk from the thieves these days either. Rural crime has been on the increase for some time already. Even folks in the rural areas have people who routinely pass each others houses. It is good to know your resources and use them for sooner or later everybody needs to receive so be a good giver against the day you need the favor back!

I would be amiss if I didn't recall the all importance of hedging your property up with prayer before going too. We hedge 'ourselves' up all the time but don't forget your belongings too! I learned to do that when my husband was in the hospital. On a rare occasion I would see a lab slip on the floor of an elevator and would know it was going to be important to someone so I'd pick it up and turn it in to the nearest nurses station. The ward secretaries at nurses stations know what to do with lab orders and things like that. The realization that my husband's records were important to keep safe entered into me at that point and it was then I started to pray for all our property whether it was within or without our very own hands for safe keeping. I based the prayer off this scripture: Deuteronomy 28:2-3(King James Version)

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.”

We lived in the country at the time and yet very important property was in the medical records that were being kept in the city. We were blessed. The records were kept safe and available when needed.

Now, if you ever wonder what happened to that lab test result you never received and they were never able to find, know it likely floated down an elevator shaft somewhere before someone could find it and turn it in for you.

I read chapter 24 first and was blessed to read chapter 25 right afterward. Chapter 24 is tough news but we have a lot of blessing to look forward to in chapter 25!

“Tender Mercies”

Monday morning I awoke with another check in my Spirit to access my inventory of food and water. Always to keep rotating my supply. Sharing what is extra and restocking what is low. Food shelves are in low supply. We need to help locally as well as otherwise like in helping Haiti.
Let me share with you some input about how to approach what to obtain to 'store and prepare' specifically for you. A fellow Christian friend wrote to me and in part her email says:

[Also, in regards to people 'storing up food and water,' have you gone to Sid Roth's "It's Supernatural," program, and looked in his archives and watched both John Paul Jackson and John Kilpatrick's interviews? We have a very prophetic woman in our area who has been called to lay up a lot of food. My thoughts on that are that because God, having spoken through His prophets, said to store some extra food, water, some extra money, and a gun with ammunition, that there is wisdom in asking Him 'how much Lord, do you want me to do that?'

When I did what God showed me to do, and bought a little extra rice and dry beans, I saw an angel, smile at me. Her name was 'Tender Mercies.'

He knows where the earth may crumble. He knows where food will fail etc., etc. We are approaching the time of the wise and foolish virgins. It seems that more and more we are coming to a place of 'it's you and me God.' We've stepped into a new season!

It shows here that “Jesus, himself,” is still evangelizing so don't you think we should be too? So I'll meet you out knocking on doors! Talking to folks at the mall! You know what I mean. I'll soon be flying to Maui and I pray to have an unsaved person sitting next to me, on both sides. Pray for the unsaved person/people. Overwhelmingly, I feel time is of essence!
